Sandy Challinor has lived locally all her life. Formerly a Nursery Nurse and Nurse she now practises as a Midwife and Complementary Therapy.

She completed practical and theoretical Diploma training in Aromatherapy, Lymph Drainage Massage and Swiss Reflex Therapy at the Shirley Price International College of Aromatherapy in Leicestershire.

After qualifying in 2005, she took further training and direction from Caroline Blamey and, more recently, Ethel Burns (Oxford Brookes Hospital) for the specific use of aromatherapy for pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period.

Sandy is a key member of the team that has been instrumental in setting up and developing an Aromatherapy Service for women in labour. She continues to train staff in the use of aromatherapy in practise within the Maternity Unit and is now involved in extending this service for use on the Ante and Postnatal wards.

As a Complementary Therapist Sandy works to a professional standard and is committed to the continuation of her professional and personal development. She has undertaken further training seminars under the direction of Linda Arksey (LA Complimentary Health) and intends to further develop her interest and practise in the near future with the addition of Baby Massage training sessions for Mums and Dads.
